SMT and PCB assembly, in-house near Mumbai
WiMaC runs its own SMT line at the Vasai factory, so a circuit board goes from a bare PCB to a populated, tested assembly without leaving the building.

What SMT assembly means
SMT, surface-mount technology, is how most modern circuit boards are built: components are placed directly onto the surface of the PCB and soldered in place, rather than inserted through drilled holes. It's faster, more compact, and it's how the electronics inside almost every product WiMaC ships are actually built.
Why in-house SMT matters
A PCB design is only half the job. The other half is getting it built correctly, at the volume you need, without a separate vendor in the loop. Because WiMaC's electronics team designs the schematic and PCB layout and runs the SMT line that assembles it, a board doesn't leave the factory between design and a finished, populated assembly. That means fewer hand-offs, fewer places for a design intent to get lost in translation, and a faster path from a first prototype to a production run.
Where it fits in the process
SMT assembly sits between electronics design and final assembly:
- Schematic and PCB layout — circuit design, validated in-house
- SMT assembly — components placed and soldered onto the board
- Testing — the assembled board is checked before it moves on
- Final assembly, test and pack (FATP) — the board goes into the finished product, which is tested again and packed for shipping
All of it happens at the same factory near Mumbai, under the same quality process used across WiMaC's assembly lines.
Have a board that needs building?
Send over a design, a BOM, or just a product brief if you don't have one yet. WiMaC will tell you what it takes to get it assembled and tested at volume.
